# Export Keys

> Export private keys for profile wallets or Wallet Farm wallets, and the org policy that controls who may.

**Export Keys** reveals the private keys of wallets you pick — in a profile's **Wallets** tab or in **Wallet Farm** — so you can hold them outside Sumo: in your own wallet app, a hardware signer, or cold storage. Both surfaces share the same policy, dialog, and limits.

## Who Can Export

Key export is off by default for everyone except the organization **owner**, and the owner controls it from **Settings → Key Export**:

| **Allow admins to export private keys** | Every admin and above may export, for **1 hour**, **24 hours**, or until the owner turns it off. Off by default. |

Both toggles are owner-only, and changing either one — in either direction — requires a one-time security code sent to your email or Telegram. Exports themselves never ask for a code: the policy is the gate.

Below the admin role, and while an account is being impersonated, export is unavailable regardless of the toggles.

## How to Export

**Profile wallets**

1. Open the profile's **Wallets** tab
2. Optionally check the wallets you want to export
3. Open the **More** menu in the toolbar and click **Export Keys**

**Wallet Farm**

1. Open **Wallet Farm** and pick the **Ready** or **In Progress** tab
2. Optionally check the wallets you want to export
3. Open the **⋯** menu in the toolbar and click **Export Keys**

Then, in the dialog:

4. Adjust the selection in the **Wallets** picker, with search and select-all. For profile wallets it lists every wallet of the profile — active, archived, and excluded — whatever tab is open; in Wallet Farm it lists every farm wallet in the current tab, whatever the search box shows
5. Type `EXPORT` to confirm
6. Copy the keys — per wallet, or **Copy all** for one key per line

The rows you checked in the table are preselected when the dialog opens, and the action is available even with nothing checked — pick the wallets in the dialog instead. In Wallet Farm only farm wallets can be exported; Marketplace wallets are excluded.

Up to **250 wallets** can be exported at once; above that the confirm button stays disabled until you narrow the selection. The keys clear from the screen automatically after 60 seconds, and closing the modal clears them immediately.

> **Reveal in private**

> Anyone holding a private key controls that wallet permanently. Reveal keys only on a machine you trust, and never share a screen while the keys are visible.

## Custody Changes to Shared

An exported wallet's custody flips from **Sumo** to **Shared**: the key now exists outside Sumo as well, and the wallet table marks it with a key icon. Custody never flips back — the export cannot be undone. Every export is written to [Audit Logs](/reporting/audit-logs).
