# Choose Your Path

> Decide whether to import an existing token or launch a new token through Sumo.

After you create an account, the first decision is whether you already have a token to manage or whether you want Sumo to launch one for you.

| Goal                              | Use This             | Result                                                                                                                                            |
| --------------------------------- | -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| You already have a token or pool  | **Import Token**     | Creates a trading profile for that existing token so you can trade, manage wallets, and monitor activity in Sumo                                  |
| You want Sumo to create the token | **Launch New Token** | Creates a pre-launch profile, prepares launch wallets and launch settings, submits the launch, then activates the profile after the token is live |

## Import an Existing Token

Use this path when the token already exists on-chain, or when the liquidity pool already exists on a supported DEX. You provide the token or pool details, attach wallets, optionally add starter strategies, and Sumo creates a profile for ongoing market operations.

## Launch a New Token

Use this path when you want Sumo to create the token and run the launch flow. The launch wizard starts as a pre-launch profile. After launch, the profile becomes the active trading workspace for the new token.
